People are willing to buy a ~100K car sight unseen. Tesla has a near zero marketing budget. Musk is the marketing department.
No other car, or truck, has generated anything close to the buzz Musk is able to consistently pull off.

- pound 7y agopeople buying that car not because of Musk himself, but because finally there is a fun car being produced. And that is what other car manufacturers haven't gotten done in many years.
