Why do they need so much power? A phone can run all day off a 200g battery and has enough processing power to do autofocusing and image processing. If it's on standby it should consume next to nothing.
- greedo 7y agoNight vision goggles, radios, flashlights. That adds up fast. Combine that weight with armor inserts, weapons, ammo, headgear, and 70lbs isn't uncommon.
- chillacy 7y agoHmm are soldiers using LiPo batteries? Given that they’re flammable when damaged, and don’t work well in extreme temperatures.
- derefr 7y agoBut on the other hand, you're already wearing body armour, so what's a little explosion? Little explosions come out the back of your rifle every minute. (LiPo batteries really don't deflagrate violently, even when shot. They just burn.)
