The main thing I'm getting from this is that Twitter is terrible. Why do likes have to be public? Why can't you choose to make some tweets followers-only? Those two things would cripple this kind of background check. (Mastodon has both of those, but a social network is only as good as its userbase, and Mastodon's is small and niche.)
