Illegal Marijuana websites, which are selling weed at a cheaper rate, are beating legal dispensaries.
With all the talk of legalization, I saw countless articles and people even here on HN claiming that it would be great for the economy because of all the tax dollars that would flow to the government.
The reality is that users just want cheap weed. They don't care if it's going to help the economy or not and are unwilling to pay more for something they can just get illegally for less.
It's sad that people just aren't willing to pay their fair share and are completely fine with purchasing a product that most likely contributes to the violence in Mexico. It's no different than buying blood diamonds.
The same thing is happening in the US. If we aren't going to get the tax benefit and the illegal businesses aren't going to get shut down (because users are unwilling to stop buying from them), we should make MJ illegal again.
