- zx2c4 7y agoYea, kernel-wireguard on Android is just for people who have rooted their phones and want a little extra adventure. Cellphones have weird networking stacks and unusually written drivers (I'm looking at you, qcacld and rmnet_perf...), so supporting WireGuard's kernel module on Android has been very worthwhile to us for fine tuning things. Plus the performance is as good as can be in kernel space. But it's definitely something for "rooters only."
