Maybe I'm missing something, but I can see how this would apply to a platform providing end-to-end encryption and how restricting that is a bad thing. What's to stop someone from using, e.g. PGP in an email? Isn't that outside the scope of this?
- shadowgovt 7y agoMaybe. ... or maybe the Attorney General can declare that a service that allows PGP-encrypted communiques is in violation and will lose its 230 protections. The law as constructed is way over-broad.
- wmf 7y agoThere aren't PGP plugins for mobile apps and people wouldn't use them if there were.
