I was surprised so many international keyboards don't have brackets! Do software engineers in those language just remap those to accessible keys? It would be super annoying to use one keyboard at home and a totally different layout at work.
- blensor 7y agoJust as I press Shift + letter to start a noun I use AltGr + 8 to start an array. Not really much of a hassle.
- archi42 7y agoWe have {}[], but for me they're a pain to type since it breaks my typing pace. When I was gifted an old laptop with US layout I saw the light and changed my desktop keyboard to US as well. When I started working my employer asked whether I wanted US of our local layout (I think 30% use US). I'm using a US intl no dead keys layout, and can easily type our Umlaute (actually much easier than {}[]).
