- ubermonkey 7y ago...which everyone read as "Vietnam".
- dylan604 7y ago?? I've never met anyone that confused the conflict setting of MASH as Vietnam. Where do you base that on? Because of the time it was aired/produced?
- singlow 7y agoThe show was set in Korea but wad made during the Vietnam war. The Korean setting was a facade for a show that was making commentary on the contemporary situation.
- edgyquant 7y agoI always thought MASH was about Vietnam tbh
- ubermonkey 7y agoIt was set in Korea, but the subtext was entirely the Vietnamese conflict, which was happening or recent (ish) for the film (Altman, 1970) and early years of the TV show (1972-1983).
