That’s Jeopardy. Whoever buzzes first gets to answer, I don’t see what’s unfair about that. Computers can react faster than humans, why should they be denied that advantage?
- BoppreH 16y agoBecause the challenge proposed is not about reaction times.
- ugh 16y agoHow so? The challenge seems to me to be all about the question whether a computer can beat humans at Jeopardy. Reaction times are a part of that.
- spencewah 16y agoBecause it goes against the spirit of the competition. Nobody would be impressed if IBM built a machine that could simply buzz in faster than Jennings and Rutter.
