Unfortunately, there’s a lot of responsibility I’ve got to take care of, and a vacation is not an immediate option. I’m going to need to step up my mental health care in a serious way, and that will require staying in the city (Toronto).

Work can be a place to escape what's going on in life while processing, but if it's causing anxiety too, it's not helping and a break may be useful.

I try to remind myself of the reality is you’d likely be way more effective with time off away. Not to be morose, if you went away work would replace you within a week or a month. What helped for me was learning to take one honest minute per hours, one hour per day, and one day per week. And build from there. Find the things that get you in touch with yourself and make them non negotiable.
