I'm kinda looking forward to the day I'll see "Google is shutting down Gmail" top post on HN.
- gberger 7y agoHow about "Google shuts down"?
- flixic 7y agoI think Gmail will exist for a very long time... but HN will quite certainly exist for longer.
- techntoke 7y agoSo true, yet you got downvotes. Someone is salty.
- rchaud 7y agoWhy on earth would they shut that down? For shopping-related queries for example, search only tells Google what users' are looking for. Email tells them what they actually bought.
- pmlnr 7y agoI'm utterly terrified of that day. It'll be for email what the Reader shutdown was for RSS.
- beshrkayali 7y agoi'm not waiting for it, i switched to fastmail early last year after +10 years of gmail. it went pretty smooth.
