- StavrosK 7y agoThat's why I let it stew for four or five pees before I flush.
- StavrosK 7y agoAnd for a serious answer, our cisterns usually have two buttons, one which uses 30% of the cistern (for light flushing) and one which uses 100% of it (for heavy flushing). This is only possible in the low-water European toilets, obviously, US-style toilets where the water is already filling the bowl can't do this.
- kube-system 7y agoDual-flush toilets have become widely available on the US market in the past 10 years. https://www.homedepot.com/p/100676582 https://www.homedepot.com/p/100676582
- StavrosK 7y agoHuh, how does it work? Does it only empty half the bowl? Seems odd...
- philwelch 7y agoThe half-flush simply empties the bowl and refills it, the full-flush crashes a full tank of water on top of it and flushes it all (which is how American toilets typically flush).
- StavrosK 7y agoAhh, I see, I didn't realize they used more water than a single fill, though now that you mention it it's kind of obvious, since they fill to the brim when they clog.
- bregma 7y agoIf it's yellow let it mellow; if it's brown flush it down.
- rsynnott 7y agoA shower can use well over 10L/min.
