- wmf 7y agoIntel/AMD design laptop/desktop (client) cores then put those cores into server processors. Because vastly more PCs are sold, they effectively subsidize server processors. Arm has a similar advantage, designing cores for phones/tablets and repurposing/extending them for servers.
