Having a billion people using the exact same model of a computer (iPhone), with almost identical hardware, software, peripherals, and system configuration, is surely an advantage in terms of anti-tracking.
I recommend you to try visiting the same page on your computer, the slightest variation of your hardware or software configuration will pinpoint your identity to 99% certainty: What is the position tolerance of your canvas? What is the list of fonts or browser plugins you have installed? What is the latency of your audio interface?
- floatingatoll 7y agoI use an Apple computer, too, and I only use the system fonts, don’t use adblockers in any browser, and don’t use plugins either. (Yes, I know how tracking works. It’s ironic to watch people realize that all their protest actions are tracking beacons. I wish it was more widely understood that being obvious is a consequence of being obviously different.)
