I’m stuck in a related situation: I own a website with heavy traffic that contains inline iframes to some http pages (about 30% of pages) hosted by third parties.
I can’t turn https on for my website, otherwise these iframes would be blocked by the browser.
Since I don’t offer https, it means that I can’t offer features such as login/sign up etc..
Any ideas?
- cpach 7y agoI can’t see any good solution, unless those third parties start using HTTPS.
- ronyfadel 7y agoI’m considering showing the iframes in an HTTP popup.. that way the main site can be served via HTTPS and the non HTTPS content would simply pop up.
- cheez 7y agoProxy the iframes through your own server.
- juiyout 7y agoI'm in the same situation as yours. Still looking for solutions.
- 9HZZRfNlpR 7y agoPopup/new tab with no encryption of your own site and show the iframe. But then of course it's not inline with the rest of your sites content.
- ronyfadel 7y agoYeah, I’m considering that.. pop up to HTTP. Then again, the most popular content is being served on HTTP. Bummer!
