The added piece of foam has to cost them something. So, really, the "broken" headphones should be more expensive, right? In any case, my friends and I have long held the belief that "If you can't open it, you don't really own it". If my toaster breaks, you can be sure I'll open it up and try to fix it before I think of buying a new one. Though before anyone thinks of flaming, I'm ok with my iPad. I can make an exception for this type of tech!
