How ti fix personal identity and security frauds?
Recent experience, mad me thinking a lot about secure identity issues.
Nowadays people use a lot phones, emails, web ... digital communication, but on the other hand somehow Identity confirmation questions are quite weak and largely available.
> In UK for instance number for frauds, phishing, identity theft etc. is continuously on rise some figures say 6% a year. Especially frauds made over phones by social engineering, when you cannot see the face of scammer. As a scammer it is easy to create "genuine" looking documents, register phone number with Skype at any possible world location, create fake social network connections ...
>> On the other hand large number of institutions are still using trivial question as postcode and date of birth as security questions...
Now, that made me think what would be a better way to secure identity but again allow people to verify someone is the person they claiming they are.
My thinking process was going in direction of having a government site that would have multiple authentication methods, that would generate one time shareable link or token, where third party could check minimal number of information (Full name, photo, partial address) with given authorization (token) by the subject.
Then, again that made me think that phones can be stolen, and if person has email client on same phone, resetting password and taking over person's identity is again security threat.
So, security experts could you please share ideas what would be a good way to solve this, so it is secure but again usable for senior citizens as well?
