which patents? does it include 64 bit? surely most of the x86 patents have expired, yet i don't see any interest in open source implementations.

- Anarch157a 7y agoThe AMD64 patents. The first Athlon 64 was released in 2003, so the architecture is still protected. Until those patents expire, the best you can do is a 32-bit P6/K7 equivalent.
