Everyone's making comments about this indicating there could be a backdoor. Wouldn't that be impossible for Signal without putting it in the open source app? Otherwise wouldn't it have to be a protocol-level vulnerability?
- mr_toad 7y agoHow do you know the binary in the App Store is actually compiled from the published source. Is it possible to reproduce iOS binaries?
- anderspitman 7y agoGreat question. I would assume Signal has some sort of signed reproducible builds, but I have no idea what the Apple store process is like. Do you not just submit a binary to the store?
