I guess you cannot really fix it because it probably comes from the data you are using, but for Tokyo the default zoom is broken because a bunch of unrelated places is also displayed. Do you think you could also include the railroads/subways? I think here it is a more relevant way of finding your path in the city rather than the roads and the result could be quite interesting.
