I removed the driver-side door grab/armrest in my NA. Gives me about 3" extra room. Perhaps that's possible on newer models? I popped off a couple plastic pane

I removed the driver-side door grab/armrest in my NA. Gives me about 3" extra room. Perhaps that's possible on newer models? I popped off a couple plastic panels, unscrewed the bolts, and it came right off. Then I attached a loop of cloth with a washer so I could close the door.
