Rumor
- kick 7y agoFact. You knowingly ripped out the reference to the source code on the home page, but you're fairly obviously using it: http://asciimoo.github.io/searx/user/public_instances.html http://asciimoo.github.io/searx/user/public_instances.html A random example of an actually ethical instance, that doesn't violate the AGPL: https://searx.tuxcloud.net/ https://searx.tuxcloud.net/
- danShumway 7y agoWow, you're right. This is very, very clearly just Searx with some text and logo changes. That's a really weird decision to make, because speaking as just a HN reader, I'm not even remotely interested in using a random search engine with no information, community, or history, but Searx is a really interesting project that I didn't know about and that I would have been happy to learn about. So I don't understand what the end-game is here. It would have been easier and more helpful to just link to Searx instead of trying to pass it off as something else, and a general Searx post probably would have gotten more upvotes as well.

- kick 7y agoYou just added that subheading; I checked it before making this comment, and it still doesn't comply with the AGPL.
