The difference is, that Neflix/Google/Facebook had their services with telemetry since start. If you didn't agree to their terms, you simply didn't start using their services. They don't even have network effects like Windows has. Microsoft, on the other hand, added telemetry to already widely-used product, not giving the existing users any choice. Is it any wonder that Microsoft is being singled out? They deserve to be singled out.
