I checked twitter and reddit and easily found various other people with the same problem, so it's nothing new, Uber just doesn’t care about fixing it and would rather torture paying customers with their atrocious customer support. I've heard contacting the Uber support twitter account works better than the in-app support, but I gave up before then and issued a chargeback.
