- robinshen 7y agoI am using TechSmith's Camtasia. It is powerful and easy to use.
- jjeaff 7y agoLicecap and ShareX are both free (windows) options to make screencap gifs.

- j1elo 7y agoOn Linux systems you might want to have a look at Peek [1]. It can even make (optional) use of gifski [2], a library that is great at reaching top optimization of the limited GIF color palette.
