I wouldn't leave California for a million dollars. To quote a famous Californian, "I'd rather be dead in California than alive in Arizona."

- filoleg 7y agoGood for you, I totally respect that. Which, unfortunately, isn't something I am able to say about a lot of Californian expats.
- atomi 7y agoA lot of "Californians" are transplants or foreign born. Many of those are also conservative and don't mind moving to more conservative states. Native born are typically more loyal.

- atomi 7y agoYou got a tough job buddy.
- kortilla 7y agoI’m sure there are lots of people in Arizona that would love for you to die there as well. I’m honestly surprised that so many “forward thinking” people can spout off such nationalist bullshit with a straight face.
- cyphar 7y agoIt's a reference to Arrested Development. There's also no need to take it personally -- not to mention that both Arizona and California are in the same country (thus making it by definition not nationalistic to say you prefer one to the other).
- kortilla 7y agoPreferring a State over another State is exactly the same as nationalism, even if they happened to be united under the same country at a given time (see Calexit). The Catalonians wanting to separate is also nationalism, despite the proposed country not existing.

- prestonh 7y agoI got that reference.
- smsm42 7y agoI probably would. Too bad nobody is giving me a million dollars for that. Except for the weather (which is admittedly pretty nice) and salaries (which are admittedly very juicy even after adjusting for cost of living) I am not entirely sure why California is so much better than other places. I mean, San Francisco has a lot of nice stuff there, but other places do too, and they don't have today's SF downsides... So I am not sure why.
