SQL is a declarative language. Cypher is somewhat SQL-like, also declarative language which exists to make the expression of graph queries with predicates over nodes and edges easier to express.
- FillardMillmore 7y agoThank you for the correction. You are correct, SQL is a declarative language. It would've been more accurate for me to refer to Cypher as 'a more expressive declarative query language' (specifically for the graph database paradigm) than a typical SQL-like query language.
