The latest project to drill through the mantle...
The deep sea drilling vessel Chikyu will drill through the crust where it is the shallowest using tech which wasn't available in any of the previous attempts. Looking forward to this one starting!

- heydabop 7y agoMy wife and I were talking about this borehole a few weeks ago and wondering why similar projects hadn't been undertaken with newer technology. So thanks for this, interested to see how it turns out!
