It's seems like out of smart cities concept only smart grids really happened. Autonomous vehicles are still a long way off.
- mikece 7y agoIf a city (or small neighborhood) were specifically designed for autonomous vehicles (with sensors and guidance tech everywhere) then it would probably work. Ironically, I think this could backfire by showing just how much additive and connected tech -- and demarcated lanes where humans shouldn't step -- will be required for properly operating fully self-driving vehicles. Folks living in "legacy" neighborhoods will look at this and say "No way" for the most part.
