From what I understand Erlang depends heavily on green threads, which are no longer available on the JVM.
- FooBarWidget 16y agoYou can implement green threads yourself.
- wmf 16y agoHow would you do that in Java given that you can't reify the stack?
- drkrab 16y agoErjang is using Kilim (http://www.malhar.net/sriram/kilim/ http://www.malhar.net/sriram/kilim/) which does bytecode rewriting to support coroutines (kind of green threads) on top of JVM. With Java 8, we're rumored to get coroutines in the JVM.
