'This airplane is designed by clowns':Boeing employees KNEW about 737 Max issues
- nigPeen 7y agoThis headline is clear evidence of the usual pervasive daily media manipulation by way of talking points issued from a mouthpiece, and echoed by toadies. We know that the 737 itself has been around for a long, long time. We know that its main selling point was that it's still the same plane, because they wanted to skirt the dreaded type certification regulations. The primary design change was installing bigger engines, such that they changed the center of gravity. They then tried to solve for the altered fulcrum with minimized software assisted flight control. They tried to hide it, because they were trying to sidestep the possibility of type certification costs. The key benefit of purchase being that there was no need to retrain. Looking at what the sensors and software did in order to affect flight control, yes, we see the glaring errors. Nonetheless, it doesn't mean the quote was informed, prescient or salient.
- sonofgod 7y agoJust a heads up - the Daily Mail are not a reliable source of news. (for example: Wikipedia have had to ban them from citations due to "the Daily Mail’s reputation for poor fact checking, sensationalism and flat-out fabrication".) Whilst this specific report is echoed in other news sources, and therefore probably accurate, I'd avoid using the Daily Mail as a primary source of information.
