If you can find it, the Kindle DX can be a good solution too. The screen is 9.7", big enough to fit an A4 paper. And it can read PDFs and allows uploads via USB

If you can find it, the Kindle DX can be a good solution too. The screen is 9.7", big enough to fit an A4 paper. And it can read PDFs and allows uploads via USB cable.
Sadly, Amazon has discontinued it. And newer tablets are probably faster and/or have better resolution. But if you're willing to change its battery once it dies, a second hand one could be what you want.
