And sent!
tech-minded people is not very narrow or niche. It's pretty saturated.
- What are you doing different from HN?
- What do you think current online communities including HN lacks?
- What incentive structure do you think works best for promoting high quality contributions and train new users to follow along?
Plug - It's nothing concrete yet
but I would like to answer people's request for an idea. Send me an email at get_an_idea@protonmail.com with some details regarding your background, field of interest, and motive. I will try to answer each and every request within reason.
small tip - remove (I am) from the title.
- newman8r 7y agoI think most networks I'm a part of lack the long term relationships and sustainable group dynamics that make traditional, real-life groups so awesome. Currently I'm trying to figure out what makes a really awesome group, and trying to scale it up at some point. So for now, I'm just saying 'tech-minded', but I hope to iron that out soon. As far as incentives go, if you don't meet the minimum posting activity for a group, you get removed. So ideally the groups will be valuable enough to get people to contribute so that they don't get kicked out - I will have to see if that's enough. Looking forward to getting you onboarded into a group - thanks for the questions (and I'll take your word on that title advice too).
