Re: Michigan Sleeping Bear Dunes is beautiful, but my #1 hiking spot would be Pictured Rocks in the Upper Peninsula. The rock formations are astounding, there are hikers-only campsites that are super cool to stay in, and there's lots of stuff to do there whether you're there for a day or a week.
