I used to develop multiplayer cheats and bots because I enjoyed overcoming the technical challenge. Reverse engineering software, creating and injecting your own shell code in a game and see it working is extremely satisfying.
It seems very selfish in retrospective and I'm sorry for all the gamer experiences I ruined.
- awb 7y agoOr maybe you saved someone from gaming addiction by breaking these games and making it harder to win.
- Operyl 7y agoOr the inverse: because someone had to work harder, the experience of finally winning only made the feeling so much better, and released a ton more endorphins. Or maybe .. neither really contributes or detracts from “gamer addiction”.
