If you want a specific example, just read about Nayirah's testimony. How the Bush government, Kuwaiti diplomats and a well placed PR firm along with collusion by news/media used an outright lie to sway the public into supporting war. Nobody was prosecuted for this, nobody went to jail.

The people behind it are basically the same ones that gave us the Iraq War I & II, a bunch of Deep State frauds who make money for the usual suspects. Now you will next find out that Trump is an honest man fighting the good fight against a bunch of total assholes and that he deserves some latitude.
