Dating is roughly symmetric, but employment is not. Jobs are not just an employer picking an employee, but also an employee picking an employer. The current process saves time for one side, but wastes it for the other. One of my dream side projects which never came to life is a job board where employers post (only) photos of what your workspace would look like. It's almost impossible to find out what I'm going to be looking at 8+ hours a day, even though that's one of the most important aspects of a job to me.
