Maybe it's time for piracy and people power to take over. Parents curate for other parents, perhaps parents that know each other. Use youtube-dl and other things. Have an open source app (You might have to get away from iOS for this) on a tablet that can watch this community curated content. wrt to piracy: keep in mind that parents are often relatively financially disadvantaged as well as being the most financially targeted group. Some parents turn to youtube rather than (say) disney+ for a reason. Those that can afford it do because it is less mind time and real time than having to do even community curation.
