great time to buy devices supporting Wi-Fi 5, because of Wi-Fi 6 devices arriving in the US market.
But I say that with some sarcasm, because it's actually a bad time to buy Wi-Fi 6 devices, as Wi-Fi 6E was just announced.
Wi-Fi 6E will require new hardware to support the new frequency - as stated by a previous comment.
BTW, The Wi-Fi Alliance's naming schemes are confusing and poorly timed (Cellular carriers are pushing 5G..and they launch 6E??? Will they bring out 6F and 6G next year?)

- bubblethink 7y agoIf your internet's speed is less than 500 Mbps, netgear r7800 should be able to handle it well with openwrt.
