In my experience, most medium to large size companies are primarily comprised of people doing what your doing. Most places you could lateral to would get what they expected. I think it’s totally fine to do that and let the rest of your life be the more important thing. Now, if pushing your career forward is what you really want, people in a new company will start to notice once your putting in the effort and communicating what you accomplish. There’s no trick to it, just putting in the effort on the tasks you take on and being thoughtful about how to accomplish them in a way that is focused on the company’s goals.
