Apex Legends is currently up in arms about it because upper 20% players are being matched in with top 0.1% players and that means every single game has to be played at peak effort by everyone. There are no "casual" games any more and it's impossible to team up with friends who might have a lower skill level because they'll be matched in with that 0.1% and be decimated.
