  You know, my mom has some of his books and tapes, but I've never read/listened to them. What's his deal? - - - - Far from a "platitude" this is a simple, easy, actionable, and reliable way to feel happy. It's not absolutely guaranteed, of course, but consider: Sharing food is recognized, since pre-human times and even cross-species, as kindness. It's the pre-linguistic definition of kindness, and deeply biologically significant. Calories, man. It's physics. Kindness engenders good feelings. The word com-pan-ion literally means to share food together.
