I do a five day food and technology fast every year [0]. It's an instructive experience to go without these two dependancies. If I have kids it is something I'd want them to partake in when they are the right age, but these extreme measures can't be the only action taken throughout the year.

- hinkley 7y agoI use the tools at hand and if those tools are electronic I have no compunction about using them. My ex pronounced that by day 3 of an international trip I'd be crawling up the walls wanting to check my email. Turned out I wasn't the one crawling up the walls on day 3... I abstained day 4 just to prove the point, and caved in the middle of day 5. And honestly, it wasn't that satisfying.
