I've worked in the UK, Canada and Brazil in over 10 different companies big and small. I've never worked more than 40h/week, I've worked with people who did but it seemed more like they wanted than that it was enforced. I feel I've never had problems putting boundaries and being reasonable, I currently make what I consider a very good salary for Canada and am working in a place that really values employer happiness.
