Show HN: Xroom.app – Conference Rooms on Steroids
- codegladiator 7y agothis is so nice
- punarinta 7y agoThank you! :) If you have any suggestions on improvement I'll be super happy to discuss that and hopefully implement.
- codegladiator 7y agobuild twitch on this and market to different audience
- punarinta 7y agoDo you mean something like using it in one-broadcasts-many-watch mode?
- codegladiator 7y agoyes, and add payments somewhere in between
- punarinta 7y agoActualy there is such a mode already (without payments though). Through the server API it's possible to create a room as a webinar that behaves exactly like that. Probably what I should do is to allow people to create webinars not just via API but also from the interface. Thanks for the hint!
- punarinta 7y agoBut speaking about "different audience", what audience would you suggest? Gamers, like in case of Twitch?
- tpppppp 7y agoUsing it for a while. Awesome!
- punarinta 7y agoOh, that's really nice to hear! Any improvement suggestions? Or maybe new plugins you'd like to see?
- mooninvoice 7y agoThis information is very helpful for me... Thanks
- punarinta 7y agoSorry, what information do you mean?
- mooninvoice 7y agomeans your features is helpful to me for implement new things
- jmiskovic 7y agoLooks sleek! What does the backend look like? Does it cost a lot to host the app?
- punarinta 7y agoRight now it doesn't cost much to host. But soon I plan to create a proper plugin store (currently there are only a few plugins available to general public as you may see) and encourage people to develop and upload their own plugins, so I will have to scale up for all that. Regarding the backend, it's a node.js application.
- w3clan 7y agoLooks like - It's a nodejs app with socket.io & webrtc.
- punarinta 7y agoExactly! socket.io was there mostly to speed up prototyping. I plan to replace it with vanilla code soon, to make the frontend app even more lightweight.
- shymon 7y agoLove how simple it is to use!
- punarinta 7y agoJust out of curiosity, did you try it from a desktop browser or from a mobile one?
