Men prefer physical beauty the most. Status is less important. When status is important Men prefer women who are in lower ranking jobs.
Nothing really new here aside from Women showed no differences which would be different from my experience (women prefer high status vs low status jobs in their partner)
- ekianjo 7y ago> women prefer high status vs low status jobs in their partner) This is also explained by the fact that women are pretty much in control of which partner they choose and therefore are more likely to have multiple choices than men.
- chrisco255 7y agoI dunno, depends on your perspective. If you approach a lot of potential partners, you broaden your pool.
- ekianjo 7y agoWomen have the power to say no as they please - they do not have to date anyone. Men on the other hand rarely refuse a potential partner. That is a major difference.
- JustSomeNobody 7y agoOf course women don’t “have” to date anyone. Nobody HAS to date anyone. And women should have the power to say no at will. So should men. Guess what? They do! This is some “mediocre boy doesn’t get the super hot girl so there’s some conspiracy against all men by women” BS.
- ekianjo 7y agoYou probably need to read more: https://www.sciencefriday.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/gender-differences-in-receptivity-to-sexual-offers.pdf https://www.sciencefriday.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/gen...
- JustSomeNobody 7y agoOk, I read it. Women are more reluctant than men to want sex. So? Any freshmen biology student could explain to you why.
- matheusmoreira 7y ago> This is some “mediocre boy doesn’t get the super hot girl so there’s some conspiracy against all men by women” BS. In another post you claimed that men don't have to settle, which directly contradicts this claim. If men don't have to settle, shouldn't mediocre boys have equal access to super hot girls? What prevents such access? I wouldn't call it's a conspiracy but to say nothing is happening would be wrong. Perhaps people should be made aware of certain subreddits.
- matheusmoreira 7y ago> Women have the power to say no as they please Men have the exact same power. > Men on the other hand rarely refuse a potential partner. True. Marriage will not be freely given, though.
- ekianjo 7y ago> Men have the exact same power. Not sure I understand your point. Several studies have already shown that men do not tend to refuse multiple partners (probably because they have nothing to lose as long as marriage/commitment is not involved). Women, however, as a general rule, do not act this way. Of course you can say men have the same power but they just do not exercise it. > True. Marriage will not be freely given, though. Agree
- matheusmoreira 7y agoYes. They have the power to say no but the things they say no to are different, as is the reason for saying no. In general, men and women want different things out of each other.
- chrisco255 7y agoThe one who approaches and has initiative has control over the size of their pool. If you sit around and wait for potential partners to approach you, it's quite a bit more random and variable.
- JustSomeNobody 7y agoI’m sorry but this is hogwash. You make it sound like men just have to settle. So not true.
- ekianjo 7y agoWidely unequal for men. If you are amongst the most attractive males then you will get a lot more choice but the lower half will basically have a much smaller pool of partners (the good old 80/20 rule is at play here), unless they have significant differentiator such as wealth.
- JustSomeNobody 7y agoSame for women! This all sounds like a bunch of incel nonsense! Edit: > If you are amongst the most attractive males then you will get a lot more choice but the lower half will basically have a much smaller pool of partners (the good old 80/20 rule is at play here) So, you're idea of "choice" is "choice amoung the top 20% of pretty girls"? That's what this is all about. Are the women in the lower half not date worthy?
- ekianjo 7y agoPlease tell me why a good chunk of men (something like 20% to 30%) have much less partners and sex these days in the age of Tinder then. This does not affect women at all.
- JustSomeNobody 7y agoJust stop. Stop the villainization of women already.
- chongli 7y agoWhen status is important Men prefer women who are in lower ranking jobs. This directly contradicts the findings of the paper. In the study, they found that, in the eyes of men, high status jobs increase the attractiveness of highly attractive women.
