Why bother with bugging a bathroom when most people will carry a wiretap device with geolocation there willingly? And continue to do so despite the evidence that device is actually listening? Then, why bother bugging a bedroom if people would put another listening-all-the-time device there too?
But then why bother even with that when most people will handle the most private conversations through one app or another that stores all the conversation history in a datacenter you have access to? And then, to make analysis of those conversations easier you get a generation that prefers texting over voice. I can't really imagine making it even easier to wiretap everyone and everything.
