Have you ever studied German? It has an absolutely dizzying number of French and/or Latin loanwords.
- bryanrasmussen 7y agoyes (although I can't remember any of it now whenever I am there for about a week I start being able to communicate when shopping I suppose if I spent a month I might be doing better but I'm never there for more than a week at a time), but anyway I'm talking about the popular conception of German from the American/English perception and the self-perception of the English language from the perception of English speakers. Which I thought was obvious?
