When a friend tried to connect to a new network on their MacBook, a second friend with an iPad got a pop-up that such-and-such was attempting to connect to their network, and if they wanted to share connection details. One click and they were in.
Creepy, but convenient.
- notwhereyouare 7y agoThere is a very specific set of requirements that have to be met for that window to pop up You have to be shared contacts, have Bluetooth and wireless on. There might be others that I don’t remember
- dwaite 7y agoNot sure if it is really that creepy - IIRC there is an encrypted advertisement over bluetooth that your contacts have the key to recognize/decrypt.
