Programmers are still wildly underpaid relative to the value they create. We're not that far removed from active collusion between tech corporations to suppress wages and labor mobility. There are ongoing efforts to pump up the labor supply to keep wages depressed; however software just doesn't scale, and throwing more mediocre labor at it doesn't produce positive results.
